2018 - Poster Series Red Blend

Each year, after we make our final Cabernet blending decisions, there remains a small amount of quality red wine that the winemakers blend together to create a quaffable everyday table wine. The label artwork for each vintage of this wine takes inspiration from the Miller family’s collection of original poster art displayed at the winery.

Recommended Cheese Pairings: Comte or Wensleydale with Cranberries

Poster Series Red Blend
Tasting Notes This blend is fruit-forward and easy drinking with aromas of stewed dark fruits, root beer, cinnamon, and dried herbs. The wine has a smooth texture with powdery tannins, and juicy acidity, and flavors of ripe raspberry, sweet plum, red licorice, baking spice, and cocoa on the finish. Vintage Notes February saw abundant rains, with filtered light in spring and early summer. Bud break occurred late, but under ideal weather conditions, creating a plentiful, even fruit set. Summer brought generous sun and cooler marine influences, uninterrupted by major heat spikes. Extended fall sunshine and moderate heat allowed fruit to accumulate flavor complexity with gradual increases in sugar levels.
