Cobble soils, olive trees and pomegranate bushes give our Soda Creek Ranch its distinct character.  It is also the ideal site to grow Napa Valley's finest Sangiovese. Our rosé of Sangiovese is classicaly styled, aromatic, attractive and flavorful.

Vintage Notes February saw abundant rains, followed by lots of filtered light in spring and early summer. Both bud break and flowering occurred a bit late, but under ideal weather conditions, creating a plentiful and even fruit set. Summer brought generous sun during the day and cooler marine influences; virtually uninterrupted by major heat spikes. The relatively mild summer, followed by extended fall sunshine and moderate heat, created near-ideal conditions for winemakers to allow their fruit to accumulate flavor complexity with gradual increases in sugar levels. Volume is looking great, up 20-30% increase over average crop quantity. Winemaker's Notes The fruit was destemmed and pumped to the press. The must was held for an average of five hours in the press before the juice was pressed off of the skins. An additional 140 gallons was saignéed from the Sangiovese tanks after an 18-hour soak on the skins. The juices were inoculated with Vin 13 yeast and fermented in stainless steel tanks with temperature control to maintain between 52-56º F until 0.48% residual sugar. The lots were then blended together and bottled on January 17, 2019. Tasting Notes Attractive with floral aromatics amidst a light kiss of sweetness. Ripe strawberries and juicy watermelon greet you and are followed by a bright peach acidity.
