2019 - Mt. George Petit Verdot

New release & winery exclusive.

The volcanic shale and tufa produce Petit Verdot with aromas of purple fruit and flowers, firm acidity, and a slight, chewy tannin.

Pair the Petit Verdot with this Penne All'Amatriciana recipe or a Mushroom Lentil Stew.

Cheese pairing suggestion: Asiago or Tomme

Mt. George Petit Verdot
Tasting Notes Berry pie aromas. Balanced, with fresh acidity and well-integrated tannins. Flavors of candied black cherries and rich plum with cocoa, herbal, and crushed violet nuances. Vintage Notes The beginning of the 2019 growing season was defined by copious rainfall and late soil moisture. The long, warm summer saw very few extreme heat events, with foggy mornings setting the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long, relatively mild finish to the season, not without its moments of unpredictability, helped to preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit with abundant hang time teasing out great color, structure, and soft tannins. All in all, exceptional fruit with bright acidity and ample texture.
